Search Engine Optimisation (SEO & SEP)
According to Wikipedia, 'Search engine optimization (SEO) is a subset of search engine marketing, and is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results'. In other words, SEO is any process which in effect 'helps' your page to 'rank' higher in search engines.
As you can see, the term SEO is quite vague and therefore opens itself to be used by just about anyone who has spent 5 minutes reading some of the technical papers on the Google website. Some SEO services offer systems where you have to add a 'links' page to your site and update it regularly, and some offer little more than adding keywords to the pages on your website.
SEO services (some which are probably quite good) are available from many sources all over the world. Digerati Solutions however, offers a system that actually supports the other systems rather than competing against them. Search Engine Preparation (SEP) is a technique used when building webpages which allows the whole website (pictures and all) work towards your SEO, not just your text content.
SEP services are quite complex to build and understand, so most web development companys don't (or can't) offer it as standard practice on all websites (as we do). It's important to remember though, that your 'success' of both SEO and SEP depend largely on your actual content as well as the level of SEO/SEP used by your competitors.
