SEO Explained
Our customers often ask, do you do SEO? Answer: Actually, we both do!
SEO Definition
Search engines (like Google) order websites on their understanding of what’s relevant to you and your search. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a process which attempts to increase your website’s relevance in search results for particular search terms.
Actually, we both do SEO!
At Digerati, we aim to maximise the potential of every website we build, so our development process always involves SEO! This doesn’t mean stuffing your site full of unreadable junk, meta-tags, meta-data yada yada. Instead, we build great websites for your customers and naturally, this makes your site more relevant to people searching.
REMEMBER: Don’t build a website for a computer, but for a person! So make a great website that your customers want to use. Here is a quick list of things you can do to improve your website’s rank in search results:
- Add relevant keywords into your text, page description and page name.
- Have other websites link to your site (this is important).
- Add a description of images you add.
- Use and integrate social media.
- Blog
- Upload videos
- Setup Business Pages to have people review your services.
But most importantly, just make a website that is relevant. No one likes a stale website that doesn’t change and nor does Google. So keep it up to date and make regular changes. This means adding fresh, new content (change it up a bit, make it exciting), allowing people to talk about you online (with Facebook and Twitter) and providing good information that is helpful for people.
